Star Citizen Alpha 4.0 EPTU.9432503 Patch Notes

Star Citizen Alpha Patch 4.0

Alpha Patch 4.0 has been released to Wave 1 testers! Patch should now show: VERSION 4.0.0-EPTU.9432503.

Characters in this new environment have been built from Long Term Persistence(LTP) data.
Currently with LTP, certain player states such as personal hangar layout, custom characters, and in-game purchased consumables are not saved between releases which will cause some items to be lost in the next update.

Audience: Wave 1
Server Info: EPTU Channel – US/EU Servers
Long Term Persistence: Enabled
Server Meshing: Enabled
Mesh Configuration: 2:2:380 (2 solar systems, 2 servers per system, 380 players total per mesh)
Server Recovery: Enabled
Starting aUEC: 15,000,000

Note: This patch does not contain all of the intended features, which will be added iteratively to the notes as they become available. Additionally, some features may be implemented in a partial state and as such are not ready for testing. When those features reach a playable state they will be detailed on the notes and added to the “Testing Focus”. Please issue council all issues related to those in testing focus and in general gameplay.

  • Server Meshing 2:2:380
  • Pyro Star System and New Locations
  • Contested Zones
  • Jump Points

Known Issues

Client stability around jump points may be a bit shaky tonight. We have a possible hotfix in the works for later tonight on EPTU so proceed with caution when loitering around Jump points until the fix is out!
Tonight’s build has a cvar enabled to remove rep requirements from missions, so you will see many extra missions that are normally locked behind reputation gains

  • PU – Stanton / Pyro – Jump Points / Art / Vehicles – Jump Tunnel VFX become extremely distorted during use
  • Stall – Client – PU – Jump Points – Performance – There is a brief client stall when travelling through the Jump Point Tunnels
  • PU – Pyro – Elevators / Personal Hangars – Ruin Station – Locations – Elevators from personal hangars to the entrance can send the player to an incorrect elevator
  • MISC Starlancer Max – PU – Vehicles – Starlancer Max landing gear won’t deploy but ship speed is limited as if they were
  • PU – Pyro – Locations – Checkmate – Medium Hangar blocked by station geometry
  • PU – Stanton – ASOP / Locations – Personal Hangar – Retrieving a ship results in “We are unable to deal with your request at this time” but does not timeout fail
  • PU – Actor – Inventory – UI / Interactions – Helmets can’t be dragged to equip when carrying/holding the helmet in the hands of the player to their head as the port will be missing
  • Multiweapon – PU – Actor / Animation / Weapons – Both male and female actors do not animate while reloading weapons
  • PU – Pyro – Orbituary – Locations / Art / VisArea – Navigating from assigned hangar elevator to “Entrance” opens to a VisArea portal above medical clinic
  • PU – FOIP / VOIP – Audio – Players cannot hear other players through any audio channel

Gameplay

FOIP Tracking Refinements
Various improvements to the tracking stability and quality of Face-Over-IP. Added Head rotation tracking. Refined tracking algorithm. Improved motion with wider range of motion for the mouth. Stabilization to help jitter in low light and high light conditions. Secondary motions added for extreme poses.

Made Further Mission Refactor Progress
More missions will be available but still very much work in progress. This will also disable the Service Beacons tab for the initial 4.0 release but will not affect medical beacon use. Added auto pagination to Contracts. For 4.0, many missions will be very localized, some down to the exact point of interest you are at.

– Split objectives in contract panel based on whether they are in the player’s solar system or not, for displaying distances and sorting

Ships and Vehicles

Further Ship Inclusions
Added further inclusions from 3.24.3 into 4.0 for Starlancer/Polaris/Intrepid/Terrapin/Terapin Medic

Carrack Feature Updates
The Carrack has has been updated to include the option to deploy and undeploy its blast shield through a new interaction added to the cockpit. We have also added a new interaction to open and close the cargo pods for outside access to load cargo in and out of the ship. This currently keeps the cargo pods in their current raised state near the ship and does not have all the intended audio.
