Star Citizen Alpha 3.17.2b PTU.8107688 Patch Notes

Alpha Patch 3.17.2b has been released to Evocati, and is now available to test! Patch should now show: VERSION 3.17.2-PTU.8107688.

It is strongly recommended that players delete their USER and Shader folders for the Public client after patching, particularly if you start encountering any odd character graphical issues or crash on loading. The USER folder can be found (in default installations) at C:\Program Files\Roberts Space Industries\StarCitizen\PTU. The Shader folders can be found here %localappdata%\Star Citizen.

Note: This patch does not contain all of the intended features, which will be added iteratively to the notes as they become available. Additionally, some features may be implemented in a partial state and as such are not ready for testing. When those features reach a playable state they will be detailed on the notes and added to the “Testing Focus”. Please issue council all issues related to those in testing focus and in general gameplay.

Known Issues

  • Spaceport Elevators leaving HAB may not respond
  • Elevators / Physics – Hangar elevator’s collision grid pushes player through its path when called (Multiple Locations)
  • Combat AI – FPS NPCs rubberbanding
  • Shopping / Kiosk – UI – Shop Search Feature cannot currently search item names
  • Shopping / Kiosk – UI – Use of the search bar will make the player lose control of mouse cursor
  • Rest Stops ( R&R ) – Stores have no items out on shelves to buy, and their kiosks have no stock available to purchase
  • MISC Hull A – The “Extend Cargo Spindle” animation does not complete
  • Many missions are not awarding reputation
  • Remove Claimjumpers Mission does not progress after player has reached mission location
  • Retrieval Op/Delivery Mission – AI reinforcements do not arrive to the derelict outposts after the player arrives
  • Derelict Colonial Outposts – Player will experience a severe FPS drop around certain areas of the Derelict Outpost
  • Derelict Colonial Outposts – The Lootable crates are missing from the Derelict Outpost locations
  • Refinery Kiosk – Refinery at R&R stations ARC-L2 and ARC-L4 doesn’t allow player to refine their materials and screen is missing station specialization
  • Performance – Framerate drops on the surface of planets and moons when approaching UGF locations
  • Bunker turrets – lawful missions – bunker turrets will shoot at a player with a lawful mission to be at the bunker
  • UGF Raid – Missions / AI / Combat AI – Some Enemy AI will not engage Security AI or Players
  • Locations / Missions – ‘Restricted Area’ warning occurring inside UGF even if player has a lawful mission
  • Medical – Downed players may become desynced
  • FPS Weapons – Weapon holsters or un-holsters unintentionally

Siege of Orison Mission

  • Shuttle from Orison to Easy will double up / teleport which can cause player deaths
  • Client Crash can occur on the shuttle from Orison to Solanki or Orison to Spaceport after looting and equipping clothing / armor from corpses
  • After mission completion the shuttle back to Orison will teleport back to Solanki
  • HUD UI shows that there are still some hostiles remaining on an island, but there are no AI left to neutralize, preventing completion of the objective
  • The Lieutenant on Solanki Island never spawned in
  • Enemy AI can spawn in the floor of the tower
  • Certain AI will not be aggressive towards the player
  • IFFI screen turns back on when being streamed back in after being disconnected
  • IFFIs from the previous mission instance will remain during future instances of the mission

Actor Downstream Networking Updates

Enabled new remote movement and new server authoritative position systems. With this update, players should see great improvements with on foot player positions and less jittery behavior while viewing remote player movements.

Bug Fixes

  • Personal Transport Service Beacon Missions should now correctly appear in the Contracts Manager for other players
  • Fixed another issue that was causing on foot players/npcs to appear to teleport while moving when viewed at a long distance through weapon scopes
  • Fixed another issue that could cause players to appear to be “standing” in space while EVAing
  • Fixed an issue causing AI to not spawn around Derelict Reclaimer locations during Delivery missions
  • Fixed an issue that allowed players to accept and abandon the mission ( Remove Illegal Occupants ) indefinitely to continually spawn AI
  • Fixed an issue causing no AI to be present on location during the recovery_stash Inhabited Reclaimer mission
  • Hijacked Reclaimer mission flow should no longer break by inserting any hacking chip other than one specified by the mission
  • Fixed an issue causing the Reclaimer the Breach and Steal Mission takes place in to be attacked and destroyed by security ships while the player does the mission
  • Fixed an issue that could sometimes cause two instances of the Siege of Orison mission to become available after the mission fails
  • Fixed an issue that was causing certain spawn closets located on the Admin Centre platform block the boss spawning during the Siege of Orison
  • Fixed an issue causing mission ships to sometimes spawn under the platform surface during the Siege of Orison mission
  • Fixed an issue causing enemy AI do not leave their open spawn closet on the upper floor of the restaurant on Solanki Platform during Siege of Orison
  • Auroras and Freelancers should no longer get stuck when attempting autodock with the Starfarer
