Star Citizen Alpha 3.17.2f PTU.8123122 Patch Notes

Alpha Patch 3.17.2f has been released to the PTU and is now available to test! Patch should now show: VERSION 3.17.2-PTU.8123122.

It is strongly recommended that players delete their USER and Shader folders for the Public client after patching, particularly if you start encountering any odd character graphical issues or crash on loading. The USER folder can be found (in default installations) at C:\Program Files\Roberts Space Industries\StarCitizen\PTU. The Shader folders can be found here %localappdata%\Star Citizen.

Note: This patch does not contain all of the intended features, which will be added iteratively to the notes as they become available. Additionally, some features may be implemented in a partial state and as such are not ready for testing. When those features reach a playable state they will be detailed on the notes and added to the “Testing Focus”. Please issue council all issues related to those in testing focus and in general gameplay.

This weekend we will be running Nine Tails Lockdown on Saturday and Siege of Orison on Sunday on the PTU servers starting at 1200 CDT | 1700 UTC each day!

Known Issues

  • Locations – ArcCorp – Area18 – Hospital – Empire Health Services hospital has no gravity and may cause infinite black screen on loading into hospital bed

Please note that we suggest making sure you avoid loading into the Area18 hospital for this issue by setting your respawn to a different location. if you happen to get this black screen, reloading into the server should respawn you in the hab bed as a workaround.

  • Locations – Transit / Elevator – Multiple Station EZ HAB Elevators Broken
  • AI / Characters – Inventory – Looting the weapon from an unconscious AI will cause it to teleport back into their hand a short period after picking it up
  • Mission Content / UI – Mission objective marker disappears once arrived at Derelict Outpost 2
  • Missions – Bounty / Mercenary – Dying in lawful UGF missions causes player to respawn at Grim Hex
  • Hijacked Reclaimer – Seize the Data – Mission does not Progress after “Board the Black Kite”
  • Bunker turrets – lawful missions – bunker turrets will shoot at a player with a lawful mission to be at the bunker
  • UGF Raid – Missions / AI / Combat AI – Some Enemy AI will not engage Security AI or Players
  • Physics / Vehicles / Actor Tech / EVA – When entering a ship’s physics grid from EVA, the player may be forcefully repelled
  • FPS Weapons – Weapon holsters or un-holsters unintentionally
  • Shopping Kiosk / Multi-Buy – When using the buy Max feature, or buying the max of an item ( 1000 ) – Further attempts to purchase from the store will result in an Inventory Error or Insufficient Stock
  • Missions – “Halt Illegal Surveillance” / “Unauthorized Surveillance Detected” – Missions Do Not Generate A Mission Marker or Initialize On Arrival
  • Ships – Components and interior zones remain when ships are destroyed
  • Missions – UGF Locations – NPCs Not Spawning at Mission Locations
  • When purchasing a rental vehicle from a rental kiosk the money taken will not be displayed properly on the Kiosk or the mobiGlas
  • Locations – Elevators / Physics – Hangar elevator’s collision grid pushes player through its path when called (Multiple Locations)
  • Shopping Kiosk – UI / Building Blocks – Controls / Mouse – When selecting the text field box for “Quantity Multiplier” you lose control of the in-game mouse cursor
  • Locations / Art / Tech Art – Elevators have portals / Vis areas when their doors open
  • Stanton – ASOP – Ships on landing pads end up in “unknown state” for location and have to be reclaimed after the ship is stored or streamed out

Feature Updates

Gameplay

  • Combat Assistance Beacon Polish Pass

Balance updates on various difficulties. Added dialogue when escort ships die. Added targeting priority to attacker ships. Fixed duplicate mission objectives. Added Service Beacon Comms entity so Requestor ship appears as “Service Requestor” instead of “CDF-Rowena Dulli”.

Locations

  • Updated GrimHEX hospital operation theater delivery area to have proper shelves for delivery items

Core Tech

  • Made further actor networking improvements to help reduce instances of players teleporting and sliding
  • Made further improvements to on foot AI networking to improve their movements and responses and reduce rubber-banding

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue causing the bed logout prompt to be missing from all ship beds
  • There should no longer be duplicate cargo boxes sticking out of the top of the updated Mustang Alpha
  • Anvil Ballista Missile Turret HUD should no longer be missing
  • Gimbals will no longer switch from “Auto/manual” to “Locked” when quantum drive is activated or deactivated
  • Tumbril Cyclone Missile Operator Mode should now function
