Star Citizen Alpha 3.19.0 EPTU. 8456566 Patch Notes

Alpha Patch 3.19.0 has been released to Evocati, and is now available to test! Patch should now show: VERSION 3.18.9-EPTU.8456566.

It is strongly recommended that players delete their USER folder for the Public client after patching, particularly if you start encountering any odd character graphical issues or crash on loading. The USER folder can be found (in default installations) at C:\Program Files\Roberts Space Industries\StarCitizen\PTU.

The current build is under NDA Please log out then back in on the issue council site to see the Evocati environment there. Please make sure to only select the Evocati 3.18 environment when creating IC reports while the builds are Evocati only

Note: This patch does not contain all of the intended features, which will be added iteratively to the notes as they become available. Additionally, some features may be implemented in a partial state and as such are not ready for testing. When those features reach a playable state they will be detailed on the notes and added to the “Testing Focus”. Please issue council all issues related to those in testing focus and in general gameplay.

Known Issues

  • ArcCorp – Area18 – New Player Experience – Design / Mission / Locations – Tutorial 02 Mission does not update when the player uses the elevator to get to the ground floor
  • Workaround – Re-entering the elevator can sometimes cause it to update but not consistently. The objective completes consistently however, when the player exits via the back right elevator. Pressing the ground floor button twice has worked in some cases.
  • Harvestables – Harvestable Deposits may be invisible to players, cause collisions or become unavailable for scanning, mining or salvage gameplay (mining may be blocked in this build)
  • Performance – Client – High dedicated video memory usage leads to severe framerate drops at Lorville
  • ReplaceMe Ball in player hab
  • CBD is restricted zone and will impound and teleport players upon arrival
  • AC – PTU/LIVE – WaitForPlayerSpawn Connection Timeout
  • Shopping/Kiosks – All shopping kiosks have misaligned interaction space

New Features

Gameplay

  • New Player Experience
    • An initiative for improving the initial (first 30 minutes) gameplay experience, which will help players understand the context of the world and introduce them to some of Star Citizen’s basic features. This update focuses on the experience in Area 18 and Baijini Point. As players enter the main menu to join the universe they will be prompted with the option to join as normal or accept the New Player Experience Mission chain which will set their spawn to Area18 and begin a walkthrough. Being the NPE we are going to leave the details off to give you all the experience of doing this as close to a new player as possible without information. There are a few bugs with the mission such as some of the elevators not progressing the mission or when crashing or leaving the game during the mission will make it unavailable again until you recopy your account.

Gameplay

  • Salvage Claim Polish Pass
  • Fixed issues with tractor beam rotational velocities and accelerations. Salvage marker improvement, spawning Trespass area on first ship spawned, merging ships in single object before launching Damage tracker to have progress bar in Lawless, disabling power interactions on all salvage ships. Additional fixes to help travel to Salvage objective. Added progress bar to lawless contract, fixed “Travel to Salvage” objective completing before getting there. Changed completion percentage from 90% to 80% for Easy and Medium contracts. Removed Arrow from list of salvageable ships. Gave Unlawful Salvage contracts a Resource Tag to limit the amount of spawns per location and avoid clutter. Removed small ships from Lawless contract, modified to several different ships.
  • Density Manager Mission Updates
  • Updated the density manager system so that mission entities and things dropped by missions such as corpses, guns, and debris will be cleaned up when the area is streamed out. As we reuse mission locations such as UGFs, the location will then be cleaned up of all mission items when the area is streamed out while player dropped things remain as usual.
  • Temporarily removed Orison FPS missions for 3.19

Ships and Vehicles

  • Added Corsair, Cutter, and C8R Pisces to in game shops

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed – Missions / Law / UI – Player does not receive a trespass warning when entering unlawful Salvage mission area
  • Fixed – Pressure too high for minable explosions
  • Fixed – Server Performance – Client r_displayinfo server framerate shows a constant 0.0 FPS despite GIM displaying otherwise
  • Fixed – EXPLOIT – Inventory / Harvestables – It is possible to infinitely convert empty RMC canisters into full RMC canisters
  • Fixed – Ship component lock status is not persisting
