Star Citizen Alpha Patch 4.0

Alpha Patch 4.0 has been released to Wave 1 testers!  Patch should now show: VERSION 4.0.0-EPTU.9439034.

Characters in this new environment have been built from Long Term Persistence(LTP) data.
Currently with LTP, certain player states such as personal hangar layout, custom characters, and in-game purchased consumables are not saved between releases which will cause some items to be lost in the next update.

Note: This patch does not contain all of the intended features, which will be added iteratively to the notes as they become available. Additionally, some features may be implemented in a partial state and as such are not ready for testing.  When those features reach a playable state they will be detailed on the notes and added to the “Testing Focus”.  Please issue council all issues related to those in testing focus and in general gameplay.

Known Issues

Currently most missions are not available in 4.0. In the next couple of upcoming EPTU builds we will start to integrate them into releases with the mission refactor nearing completion.

  • PU – Multi-System – Jump Points – Ships / Vehicles / VFX – Ships will have a VFX trail in front of the Cockpit after Jumping whenever the Vehicle moves
  • SC – Character Customizer – Camera is offset and does not stay in place while editing character
  • Stall – Client – PU – Jump Points – Performance – There is a brief client stall when travelling through the Jump Point Tunnels
  • PU – Multi-System – Jump Points – Ships / Vehicles / SFX / Audio – The Jump Point SFX are rapidly looping/cut off
  • PU – UI – mobiGlas – mobiGlas UI is displaying incorrectly on several pages/tabs
  • PU – Pyro – Elevators / Personal Hangars – Ruin Station – Locations – Elevators from personal hangars to the entrance can send the player to an incorrect elevator (Fixed in next build)
  • MISC Starlancer Max – PU – Vehicles – Starlancer Max landing gear won’t deploy but ship speed is limited as if they were
  • PU – Pyro – Locations – Checkmate – Medium Hangar blocked by station geometry
  • PU – Stanton – ASOP / Locations – Personal Hangar – Retrieving a ship results in “We are unable to deal with your request at this time” but does not timeout fail
  • PU – Actor – Inventory – UI / Interactions – Helmets can’t be dragged to equip when carrying/holding the helmet in the hands of the player to their head as the port will be missing
  • Multiweapon – PU – Actor / Animation / Weapons – Both male and female actors do not animate while reloading weapons
  • PU – Pyro – Orbituary – Locations / Art / VisArea – Navigating from assigned hangar elevator to “Entrance” opens to a VisArea portal above medical clinic
  • PU – FOIP / VOIP – Audio – Players cannot hear other players through any audio channel
  • PU – Stanton – Multiple Locations – Transit / Network – Transit will intermittently desync off course
  • PU – Hostility not being wiped by QT
  • PU – Derelict settlements – Locations / AI / Spawn Closets – AI do not move after spawning
  • PU – Multivehicle – Quantum Travel / mobiGlas / Starmap – Unable to use plotted route to planetside location while in planet orbit
  • PU – Missions / AI – Repel Raid on Orison – Combat AI are not spawning and automatically is failed

Player Injury Polish
Increase injury value thresholds by 30% and reduced trigger probability. This is an immediate change until a proper, longer term balancing is conducted. (Feedback Thread will be available)

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed – PU – Stanton / Pyro – Jump Points – Player unable to control ship after making contact with Jump Tunnel obstructions (Jump Tunnels no longer on NG+)
  • Fixed – Jump Drives that have transitioned from one system to another do not have authority on the new server or client (STARC-136087)
  • Fixed – PU – Stanton – Locations / Transit / Personal Hangars – Some spaceport elevators will not list your personal/staging hangar despite being listed in adjacent elevators (STARC-123863)
  • Fixed – Crusader Hercules series All Variants – PU – Vehicles / Graphics – The Anunciator Panel on the Hercules series is blurry/stretched out and unreadable
  • Fixed – PU – Pyro / Stanton – Locations / Design – Freight elevator – Some objects can be thrown outside of the grid boundary, causing obstruction 
  • Fixed – PU – Stanton/Pyro – Jump Points – Ships / Vehicles / Game Code – The Jump Point can get stuck in the Requesting Jump Phase
  • Fixed – Jump Points – Code – Quantum Travel Markers are visible in the tunnel and when looking at the Jump Point in the UI cone
  • Fixed – PU – Multi-System – Jump Points – Ships / Vehicles / SFX / Audio – The Jump Point SFX are rapidly looping/cut off
  • Fixed – PU – FPS Weapons – Consumable / Interactables – Hacking Chip – A non-functioning hacking chip with paramed description drops from enemies and contorts actor when held
